A few of my favorite Apps! - iphone

Okay, I thought I would take a moment to run through a few of my favorite iphone apps.  I would love to hear some of yours too!  These are both paid and free apps, many have both options.

Games
  1. Words with Friends - This has to be number one for me because I play it all the time!  It's scrabble-esk with friends and you can have multiple games.  I play enough that the paid version was worth it!  No ads is a great benefit if you play frequently.
  2. Angry Birds - I wasn't too sure of this at first, but one of the most addicting games ever.  You will hate pigs after playing this game.
  3. Sporcle - This is a trivia game.  It too is a paid for app but is lots of fun to play with groups of people or on car rides.
  4. Carcassonne/Catan - These are two separate games, but I lump them together because they are very similar (may actually be the same creators).  These or strategy board games originally but now available on the iphone.  Both are rather expensive for apps, I think around $5, but if you like strategy games it's worth it, especially if you can't find people to play with.  Carcassonne can be played with people you know, against the computer or internet quickplay with random people.  Catan can only be played with computer players.
  5. Mr. Ninja - This is a new one my husband showed me.  It's pretty random, some circles spinning and you just tap to jump trying to collect dot things and not fall to your death.
Random (These are in no particular order, that would be too hard)
  1. Flixster - This is my favorite app for finding movie times and seeing reviews.  Reviews are from rotten tomatoes.
  2. Redbox - If you are a red box user, you should have this app.  If you are looking for a certain movie it will tell you which redbox closest to you has it or you can just browse various redboxes in your area.  You can even reserve it so you don't have to worry about anyone snatching it up before you get there!
  3. Atomic Web - this allows you to search on the internet without it saying your on your phone...so, you can see a webpage as it would appear on your computer.  This helps decrease frustration with sites that have horrible apps (*cough, facebook, cough*).
  4. Shopping List - I love this app!  I put my shopping list in and can easily take it with me.  I used the free version for a while but once I got the paid version it was SOOO much better.  You can have lists for multiple stores, you can make your own categories and organize them and you can put in notes (like for sales and coupons!)  Great app for those that do the grocery shopping.
  5. Sportacular - this is a much used app for me in the fall (it's good for all sports, but I use it mainly for college football) and gets moved up to page 1.  It's a great way to keep up with scores and you can even pick a conference to watch, top 25 or other categories.

Ok, I am always looking for good apps, so if you have one I should check out, let me know!  These are just a few of my favorite apps.
